katia & philip

weddings , 12/09/2011

This could have been… interesting. A July wedding. Outside. At 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Which is one hour before sunset in July. In Sorrento Park – which overlooks the sea. Where the icy wind comes from, at that time of year.

Yes, it could have been very interesting, from a wedding photography point of view. Kinda challenging, even.

I asked Katia about it when we met up before the day – you know, why winter, all that. I just wanted to know. Her response was that she just wanted to get married.

Which was a reply that made me feel warm inside.

So Katia and Phil just got married. I just took pictures.

And it was a very beautiful day indeed.

Maybe a tiny bit chilly.

My two absolute favorite ones from this series are the shot of the twins in front of the wedding dress (4th row down) and then the one of the bride bending over and talking to the kids after the ceremony. Very fresh.

Absoluely stunning storytelling combined with "magazine" quality perfection in composition, lighting, and posing. I adore the angles and compositions you choose for the ceremony especially. Masterful work.
