jane + adam | an old castlemaine gaol wedding
20/04/2017
So, I had to go to gaol for Jane and Adam’s wedding. The Old Castlemaine Gaol, to be specific. It’s exactly what it sounds like. The old gaol (old enough that you feel wrong using the spelling ‘jail’), repurposed. And it is excellent. Don’t worry – there’ll be pictures.
Every time I head out that way for a wedding, I remember just how lovely it is. And then to get to spend a day documenting the union of a couple like Jane and Adam… well, yeah. A day where everybody felt like family. Where there was 100% commitment from every single guest. Commitment to being a part of the ceremony itself, and for sure there was commitment to having a damn good time later.
In in the middle of it all was Jane and Adam. Committed to each other. Happy to dance just because it felt good. Happy to hike through the bush surrounding Castlemaine for the sake of an image. Utterly at ease with each other.
It was a fine, fine day.
Beautiful set of images, Darin! I love your perspective so much.
